I bought a camera from shopsunshine through e-bay (good feedback) WRONG they wont let you leave feed back unless its positive, anyways received it and was missing warranty cards called canon they said it was probabbly gray market so I called shopsunshine they claim it was 100% new. They said they would exchange it but then I decided to send it back for a refund. I contacted my credit card company and put a decitful item purchase filled out paper work and I am waiting for a refund. so I almost got scamed into keeping it.

They can claim the camera is 100% new but still be a grey market camera. Grey market means it was imported through other channels than Canon's official lines. Unless it was imported through Canon there will be no Canon warranty. Some sell grey market items with a third party warranty, but most come with none. The equipment is the same. It's all just a warranty issue.

It leads one to believe ebay has become a travesty -- no bidding or little more buy now -- what is the use -- seems it is becoming a place to dump. I have thrown out things that go on ebay and I would be ashamed what folks sent me as fine condition. too bad a good thing gone bad with not too much control except make a buck, or so it seems. How to stop it -- perhaps don't buy or use it. oops forgot to mention many=y things done today were offense such as theft by deception -- guess that is a thing of the past?

I disagree. Ebay hasn't changed. It's the inexperienced buyers always looking for a super bargain that ALWAYS end up hurting themselves. If a new camera is cheaper than B&H or Adorama sells it for, there's always something wrong.

ebay is an Internet flea market, so buyers should use the same wariness they would use walking up to table at a garage sale.

George, you beat me to it. The only difference is that eBay is like a flea market where you don't get to inspect the item until you pay for it. So maybe even more caution is needed than at a garage sale.
