As a former user of Minolta and current user of Sony, I have (duh) liked their features for years. Anyone else excited about any of their new releases? I think the a550 looks like a nice piece of gear and am anxious to try one out.
I have the 350 with several lenses. It looks like the 550 could be a nice upgrade....I am anxious to play with it. I have a couple of Sigma lenses and like them.... especially the 10-20.
I cannot think of any reason not to buy. When choosing, since prices among are relatively good -- pick one you will grow with -- who knows when you will use all the bells and whistles -- but why find out 0-- gee I should have gotten the ... model. Check them out -- as a starter lens that you will find a lens for many ocassions is the 18 -200 for example. I could go on and on -- but, I may be somewhat biased. lol
You can buy most lenses Minolta or Konica-Minolta and they will work -- many at nice used savings.
I use (for my walk around) the Sony 18-250... great lens. It has served me well on trips to England and Spain. I am really liking the specs on the 550 and can't wait to try one out.
